Lumsden Duck Derby

The Lumsden Duck Derby is a fundraiser held each Labour Day Weekend in which 25,000 rubber ducks will race down the Qu’Appelle River, with the first twenty (20) ducks rewarding their owners with a prize!

The Lumsden Duck Derby raises money for Lumsden Sports Association.

For example last years duck derby along with a new provincial matching grant program managed to raise over $40,000 to help pay down the mortgage on the new ice plant and ice-surfacer at Lumsden’s community owned and operated ice rink, helping to keep down the cost of hockey and figure skating for local families.

Attention Loyal Lumsden
Duck Derby Supporters!

We have appreciated your support for 32 years and we hope you are able to support us again in the future.  Unfortunately, our ducks are remaining in self-isolation this year, but hope to return in September 2021.

Due to the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we decided to postpone our 2020 event.  We want you to know that the safety of our fans and volunteers is important.  If restrictions lift, we will consider a fundraising event where all proceeds will go towards the 2021 event.  Keep an eye on our social media for more information.

Thank you for understanding and please stay safe!
